According to the 9to5 Mac, the RC2 candidate version of Apple macOS Big Sur 11.2 is now open to developers and public beta users. Prior to this, Apple released the first macOS Big Sur 11.2 RC version last week. This update brings M1 Mac improvements, Bluetooth repairs and more.

This update fixes a bug that may cause the external display to display a black screen when using an HDMI to DVI converter to connect to the M1 Mac mini. It also fixes a problem that caused the editing of Apple ProRaw photos in the photo application to fail to save. It also includes repairs to iCloud Drive and system preferences.

Apple has abandoned the previously used “Golden Master” naming approach to the final beta. Instead, the term “Release Candidate”, or RC, is used to refer to a near-final test version.
