Apple iPhone 13 Pro will use a higher-end ultra-wide-angle lens and support autofocus

According to DigiTimes citing sources, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be launched later this year to use an improved ultra-wide-angle lens and increase sensor movement-image stabilization and autofocus features.

The existing iPhone 12 Pro has a standard wide-angle and telephoto lens dual-optical image stabilization feature. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the first iPhone to add a sensor mobile optical image stabilization function to the wide-angle lens.

According to DigiTimes, Apple will add sensor-shift OIS for wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. An earlier report indicated that Apple will also bring a wide-angle lens with sensor-shift OIS to the rest of the series. According to reports, the new lens will also include autofocus.

In November last year, Apple’s industry chain analyst Kuo claimed that the ultra-wide-angle lens of the iPhone 13 Pro model would benefit from a wider ƒ/1.8 aperture, while the iPhone 12 Pro model’s aperture was ƒ/2.4. The iPhone 13 product line is expected to consist of four models, all benefiting from lidar scanners and 120Hz ProMotion displays.
