Apple M1X chip performance expected to surpass 10-core desktop processors

Recently, there are reports that Apple will start mass production of Apple Silicon MacBook Pro based on self-developed ARM chips in the second half of 2021, which means that we will soon witness the performance of the legendary M1X chip. WCCFTech pointed out that the performance of the upcoming M1X chip is said to be more powerful than the 5nm M1 chip used in the 2020 Mac.

In order to better evaluate the performance of the Apple M1X chip, Luke Miani decided to refer to the existing M1 chip specifications to calculate its multi-thread performance under more cores. Assuming these data are accurate, the M1X or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, which surpasses the 10-core Intel Core i9 / 8-core, makes the Apple Silicon MacBook Pro the fastest portable computer on the market.

The calculation chart shared by Luke Miani shows that the M1X’s Geekbench multi-core score almost reached 14,000 points, which is much ahead of the Ryzen R7-5800X / Core i9-10900K. Interestingly, long before the official release of the M1, Luke Miani also referred to the specifications of the A14X Bionic, estimated its performance data, and estimated its performance to be equivalent to the Core i9-9880H.

Considering that M1 is just a different name for the A14X Bionic derivative, previous official benchmark tests have shown that Miani’s estimate is quite accurate. As for the truth, please be patient and wait for Apple’s official announcement.
