Asus Zenfone 8 series launch with 120Hz refresh rate OLED panels

Asus’ Zenfone 8 is expected to be released this year, and the latest leak from XDA brings the first details of the series. The expected display sizes of the three mobile phones range from the smallest Zenfone 8 Mini, code-named “SAKE” (ASUS_I006D), 5.9 inches, to the 6.69-inch Zenfone 8/Pro, code-named “PICASSO”. All models have OLED screens with a 120Hz refresh. Rate and FHD+ resolution.

This discovery was found in the kernel source code of the brand-new ASUS ROG Phone 5, as well as a third mobile phone code-named “VODKA” with the ASUS _I007D build number. All three mobile phones use the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset. In addition, Zenfone 8 Mini has a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 main camera and an unannounced Sony IMX663 sensor.

Zenfone 8/Pro is equipped with 12 million pixel Sony IMX363, 24MP OmniVision OV24B1Q and 8 million pixel OmniVision OV08A telephoto module, while also equipped with the same IMX686 64 million pixel image sensor. A previously leaked Google support document revealed a bunch of unannounced Android phone models, including the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip, which may be the only new Zenfone that retains a flip camera.
