Nvidia plans to increase GeForce NOW subscription price to $10 per month

Nvidia has just announced a change in the charging policy of its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service. With immediate effect, consumers with a “Priority” membership will have their monthly fee adjusted to US$9.99 (or US$99.99 per year). If you want to continue to enjoy the $4.99 monthly fee privilege of the “Founders” membership, you may not interrupt your subscription at any time.

GeForce NOW allows players to visit Nvidia’s data center nearby, and then get a relatively smooth game streaming experience on PC, mobile phone, tablet, or TV. When the user presses the button on the handle, it can connect to the relay server within tens of milliseconds. However, at present, GeForce NOW only provides iOS / iPad OS clients and can be experienced on a limited number of Android TV devices.

Compared with Google Stadia and Amazon Luna, NVIDIA has not yet opened its own game store but has invited many developers to move their existing works to GeForce NOW (currently there are about 800 models).

For users who have not been in contact with a game, NVIDIA also provides a free trial, although you need to wait in line for available server resources (maybe 5/10/15 minutes), and then be automatically kicked out after an hour (and then continue) Enter the queue and wait).

If you become a paid member of GeForce NOW, in addition to almost no waiting, players can also get RTX GPU resources on the remote server, but they can only experience it for up to 6 hours at a time.

Specifically, Nvidia provides multiple configurations (with different CPUs, graphics cards, and memory resources). Depending on the game, the resource level of remote calls is also different.

For example, when playing “Fortress Night”, players only need mid-range configuration to get a pretty good screen effect. But if you change to “Cyberpunk 2077”, you need to call a higher hardware configuration.

Finally, Nvidia doubled the number of data centers last year and has attracted nearly 10 million GeForce NOW users, but the company has not disclosed how many of them are willing to pay.
