Huawei HMS will be integrated by other brands of domestic mobile phones

After being included in the “entity list” in May last year, the “spare tire” plan represented by Huawei Hongmeng and HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) began to gradually turn positive. In early July last year, HMS Core was officially launched.

Its capabilities are open to cover services in seven major areas, including App Services, Graphics, Media, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Devices, Security, and System ). Compared with Google’s GMS, Huawei’s HMS still has many technical capabilities that the latter does not possess, including AR maps, distributed and communication technologies, and so on.

According to the latest media reports, a Huawei employee named Akiba Ziluo broke the news that in addition to Huawei, at least one domestic mobile phone brand (not Honor) will launch a mobile phone with HMS Core pre-installed as a backup when Google GMS fails.

According to Huawei’s data, as of December last year, HMS had covered 500 million monthly active users in 170 countries and regions. HMS Core may be just the first step. After Huawei started the public upgrade of Hongmeng OS 2.0 in April, there may be other domestic brands joining in the future.
