Linux kernel 5.12-rc4 release stable version dawn is now

Linux 5.12-rc4 was released today, and the 5.12 kernel looks good, and its fourth weekly release candidate is now ready for testing before the stable release next month. The overall progress of Linux 5.12 testing continues to be quite calm, much better than the earlier 5.12-rc1 that was plagued by nasty data corruption issues.

Linus Torvalds simply wrote to 5.12-rc4: “The very common rc4 maybe just a bit smaller than the normal version. There is nothing particularly prominent here. The diffstat may seem to be more scattered than normal because it has been removed (Never used) MODULE_SUPPORTED_DEVICE( and other content, which will cause some trivial line deletion, but it is definitely not the kind of situation that “most driver” changes will bring.”

Therefore, unless something annoying occurs late in the cycle, Linux 5.12 now seems to have been polished to the same level. The rc4 released today is another version that seems to be more regular and on schedule. You can learn more about the changes in the latest kernel version from Here:
