Google is repairing the application crash caused by the WebView component of the Android system

Recently, many users complained about the Internet that their Android applications had unavoidable crashes. After Google’s investigation, it was found that the problem was related to the WebView component in the system.

At the same time, Samsung’s official support account gave a temporary solution on Twitter. It is recommended that users go to “Settings → Applications”, click “…” → “Display system applications” in the upper right corner, then search and write in “Android System WebView” update.

Google said in a statement to foreign media that they are already aware of some Android application crashes caused by WebView, and the development team is currently working on a more comprehensive verification and fixing it.

It is reported that the Android System WebView component is designed to help Android applications display Web content. However, some users said that deleting the most recent update can actually solve the crash problem of related applications.

Finally, Google confirmed the same problem with the Android version of the Gmail mail users on the Google Workspace status page. Before the problem is officially resolved, the company recommends using the desktop web version first.
