Two unreleased Apple iMacs appeared in macOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta 5

Apple is developing a new version of iMac desktop computers. According to the new clues found in the beta version of macOS Big Sur 11.3 released this morning, the new iMac product may be launched in the near future.

According to a 9to5Mac report, two new iMac models were mentioned in macOS Big Sur 11.3 beta 5, identified as “iMac21,1” and “iMac21,2”. The new Mac uses the codenames J456 and J457, which Bloomberg first disclosed earlier this year.

It is not known when Apple will update the iMac product line, but it is reported that there are two versions of 21.5 and 27-inch iMac models under development. It is reported that the new iMac will adopt a design similar to Pro Display XDR, with a thinner frame and no large metal chin. The new iMac model will use a flat back design, equipped with an Apple Silicon chip.

Apple recently discontinued the iMac Pro, which was the first high-end iMac released in 2017. The discontinuation of the iMac Pro also implies that Apple may update the iMac in the near future.
