Cortana app on iOS and Android has been disabled and will turn to productivity in the future

As expected, the Cortana app for iOS and Android has been discontinued and all support for third-party Cortana skills has ended. This marks the official withdrawal of the mobile terminal Cortana from the stage of history and will turn to productivity in the future, such as helping people accomplish things through Microsoft 365.

In Microsoft’s support document, Microsoft wrote

As we announced in July, we are about to end support for Cortana apps on Android and iOS, as Cortana continues to improve with productivity assistants. Starting March 31, 2021, the Cortana content (such as reminders and lists) you create will no longer run in the Cortana mobile app, but will still be accessible through Cortana in Windows. In addition, Cortana reminders, lists, and tasks are automatically synced to the Microsoft To Do app, and you can download them to your phone for free.

After March 31, 2021, the Cortana mobile app on phones will no longer be supported. In July 2020, Microsoft announced plans to close these applications. At the time, Microsoft stated that it would switch to a “transformational AI-driven assistant experience” in its Microsoft 365 applications, which would involve a renewed focus on its “innovation and development areas”.
