Edge Canary continues to improve the browser’s tab search experience

Windows Latest reported that Microsoft is launching a new version of Edge Canary and making it consistent with the latest changes to Google Chromium. It is reported that Google updated Chromium’s tab search feature a few weeks ago, and Microsoft Edge will also usher in a shortcut key option that can be used to open the complete history page.

Earlier, Google also added a new feature called “tab search” in the Chrome browser. After the setting is enabled in the menu, you can easily view and navigate to the tabs that have been opened in all windows.

Since the new version of Microsoft Edge is also based on the Chromium open source project, Microsoft can easily incorporate related features. In the latest Edge Canary branch, we have seen a new feature with experimental marks, which means that the official version will soon usher in this new feature.

In addition, today’s Edge Canary update adds support for the timestamp function in the tab search to further simplify the experience of traversing all tab lists and then manually identifying the latest tab.

Currently, this feature is still in a limited testing stage, but interested friends can manually enable it through the command line of the browser, just right-click the shortcut of Edge Canary, and then add “–enable-features=msTabSearch” in the target field.

By the way, Edge Canary has added a new tag called “History Accelerator”, which allows users to view the complete history page through the Ctrl+H key combination. In terms of flyout menus, Microsoft is testing a new feature that allows users to click on the title name to open the entire page. Finally, Microsoft is also committed to developing new APIs to improve the handwriting experience of Edge, Chrome and other Chromium kernel browsers.
