Google will push Pixel Buds A true wireless headphones this year

Just like the more affordable models such as the Pixel 3a/4a launched a few years ago, Google will soon launch the “Pixel Buds A” true wireless headsets, which will be available in two colors for consumers to choose from. Last year, Google launched the second generation of Pixel Buds, which is also the company’s first true wireless headset; this year Google plans to launch Pixel Buds A to expand its wireless headset product line.

Not surprisingly, Pixel Buds A will be almost the same visually as the current Pixel Buds, except for some changes in color matching. Pixel Buds A will have two colors, white and green. The white model will be distinguished by an all-white shell interior and an all-white bud design. The ear tips, wings and shell interiors of all colors seen on last year’s models are all black plastic.

In order to let everyone better understand what this design might look like, 9to5Google modified the photos of last year’s Pixel Buds, roughly in line with our understanding of the white Pixel Buds A. At the same time, the green Pixel Buds A will use a deeper forest green instead of the 2020 Quite Mint color. Just like the white color scheme, this dark green will be used on the inside of the charging box and the inward parts such as the ear tips and wings of the flower buds.

Like the previous two generations of Made by Google earbuds, Pixel Buds A will provide touch functions for media control and access to Google Assistant. The touch control itself should be almost the same as last year, or even exactly the same. The pricing of Pixel Buds A is currently unknown, but the “A” designation suggests that we may see a set of more affordable Made by Google earbuds, just like Pixel 4a is an affordable alternative to Pixel 4.

The current retail price of the second-generation Pixel Buds is $179. In the Made by Google product lineup, there is enough room to launch a more affordable product. Nevertheless, it is unclear what cuts Google can make to provide these headphones at a more affordable price.
