Huawei plans to launch HongmengOS operating system on its devices

Huawei executives today released the 2020 annual report. According to data, Huawei’s revenue in 2019 is 858.8 billion yuan, and its global sales in 2020 will be 891.4 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8%. Huawei’s net profit in 2020 was 64.6 billion yuan, compared with 62.7 billion yuan in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%.

Huawei’s vice chairman and rotating chairman Hu Houkun said that HarmonyOS has attracted more than 20 hardware vendors and 280 application vendors to participate in ecological construction. In the next step, it is planned to launch the Hongmeng operating system on mobile phones.

Huawei’s rotating chairman Hu Houkun said: “In the consumer sector, Huawei still insists on user-centricity. In the future, it will focus on five high-frequency application scenarios of home, office, travel, sports health, and audio-visual entertainment, based on the three-tier core of Hongmeng, HMS, and AI. At the previous Huawei Mate X2 mobile phone conference, Huawei’s executive director and consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong said: “Starting in April this year, Huawei’s flagship mobile phones can gradually upgrade the Hongmeng OS. Huawei’s Mate X2 folding screen will be the first Batch upgrade.”

Huawei said that the company’s corporate business has grown rapidly, carrier business has remained stable, and consumer business growth has slowed. Specifically, Huawei’s consumer business revenue in 2020 was 482.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%.
