Opera now natively supports M1 Mac to run faster and smoother

Opera recently announced that its new version of the macOS browser can run natively on the M1 chip, resulting in a faster and smoother experience on Apple Silicon devices. Although Opera has been able to run on the M1 chip before, native support can get a faster and more efficient experience. Opera said that this update makes the browser run twice as fast as the previous version.

In addition to adding native support for the M1 chip, Opera also said that the new version allows users to set their own keyboard shortcuts to access its Flow function, as well as a built-in encrypted wallet and player.

Compared with other browsers, Opera is known for its unique features, such as a free VPN, built-in tracking blocker, integrated social media buttons, and encrypted wallets. The aforementioned “Flow” feature allows users to share projects, links, and files in an end-to-end encrypted form between Opera on macOS and the mobile version of iOS.
