The tvOS 14.5 Beta update released this morning includes a code modification that mentions an Apple TV remote. This remote control has a “Center Button” function. The code says: “Press the middle button or touch surface to continue”, and this description does not match the existing Apple TV.
The remote controllers of the current fourth- and fifth-generation Apple TV models have a series of buttons arranged in two rows with no buttons in the middle. However, the old Apple remote has a middle button, but it is designed for the second and third-generation Apple TV models.
Therefore, it is currently impossible to determine whether this description is just a code reference or to prepare for the new Apple TV remote control. However, this code appears in the “Settings” application, so foreign media is more inclined to use the new Apple TV remote control.

If it is indeed something new, the upcoming Apple TV remote control may be similar to the design of the remote control application on the iPhone. It is characterized by a large touch area, a main menu button in the middle, and access to Siri, Side buttons for play/pause, home screen and search.
It is rumored that Apple is developing the sixth-generation Apple TV, which will use upgraded A-series chips and a modified remote control. We haven’t heard the details of what the remote control may look like, but it may have a Find My function for location purposes when it is lost.
Update: The code may refer to a third party being developed Apple TV remote control, it may be provided by Universal Electronics Inc. to cable TV offers, and satellite MVPD company. This remote also has a round button, and 9to5Mac found its image in the beta version.
