Twitter is developing the Web version of the Spaces voice chat room

In the past few months, Twitter has been working hard to introduce Clubhouse-like audio chat rooms (Spaces) into iOS/Android users. The latest news is that Spaces will soon land on the Web platform, and Twitter is developing a new browser-oriented experience.

The Twitter screenshot shared by Jane Manchun Wong shows that the UI part of the Web version of Spaces has been basically finalized. In addition to the appearance preview, Twitter itself is not too concealed. For example, on Friday, some developers showed off the new interface of Spaces.

Although it is currently limited to mobile platforms, the introduction of Spaces to the Web clearly means a major expansion. As the coverage becomes wider and the user base continues to grow, Twitter is expected to compete more directly with Clubhouse.

It needs to be pointed out that Clubhouse is currently still focusing on the iOS platform (the Android platform is under development). In addition to Twitter and Clubhouse, Discord also launched its audio chat room Stage Channels yesterday.

Finally, it is said that LinkedIn, Mark Cuban, Slack, Spotify, and even Facebook are also actively preparing for the development of similar products.
