Vivo NEX 5 is rumored to be unveiled in the second half of the year

Last year, Vivo showed the APEX 2020 concept phone, which has an under-display selfie camera and waterfall display. A month later, the company launched the Vivo NEX 3S 5G, which inherited the waterfall display but adopted a pop-up camera.

But that was a year ago, and now fans on Weibo want to know where the new NEX is. Several leakers claimed that the Vivo NEX 5 is on the way, but it will only be unveiled in the second half of the year. They also provided some details about the device.

It will have a camera under the display and no longer use the pop-up camera approach, but this configuration is expected to only exist on flagship models, while ordinary models will use punch-hole cameras. In short, the 6.78-inch display will use a four- curved design, and the front camera will use a 32MP sensor.

In the rear, NEX 5 is expected to use Samsung’s huge GN2 1/1.12-inch sensor, and the ultra-wide-angle camera will be equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor. One of the leakers stated that ZEISS will participate in the development of optical components. And this phone will have an IP68 dustproof and waterproof rating.

There are some uncertainties about the battery. One of the news said that this phone will use a 4500mAh battery, wired charging 66W, wireless charging 40W, another said that it is 120W and 60W. Vivo NEX 5 (assuming it exists) is about 6 months away from its release, so it is probably still in the prototype stage. Of course, this information may not be accurate at the beginning.
