Microsoft accidentally confirmed that the Surface Laptop 4 will have Intel and AMD processors

There has been news that Surface Laptop 4 and Surface Headphones 2 will be released in April this year, and a supporting document unexpectedly released by Microsoft finally confirmed these reports. Now Microsoft’s official website has released two download pages for Intel and AMD firmware, which can still be accessed as of press time.

The firmware page also confirmed that the Surface Laptop product line will retain Intel and AMD chips for consumers to choose from. According to the report, Microsoft’s next-generation notebook computers will use outdated AMD Ryzen 4000 series chips, but they will be sold as Surface Edition CPUs.

According to the running points, Microsoft has already begun testing the “AMD Ryzen 7 Surface Edition” CPU and the “RX Vega 8 4000” integrated graphics card. This integrated GPU is usually used in Ryzen 4000 CPU notebooks.

Based on running points, this device should use an 8-core Ryzen 7 4800U processor, which should provide better performance. The source said that both the 13-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop will provide AMD processor versions.

Intel models will use the 11th generation processors with Xe, and 16GB of memory may also bring improvements to the device. In the benchmark test, a Surface Laptop was exposed, using Intel Core i5-1135G7, which belongs to the Tiger Lake-U series and supports Xe graphics.
