Google Fi users using Hangouts could not receive information last week

A Google Fi user in Hawaii received several messages from his friend this Monday night, wishing him a happy Easter. The problem is that these messages were sent on Easter Sunday (April 4). In this regard, Google acknowledged that there is indeed a problem with sending and receiving information, and has already notified Fi users who receive text messages through Hangouts, stating that the information sent to them between March 31 and April 5 may be delayed.

Google said there was a service outage at the time, affecting “a few people.” Google said that it has now resolved this problem and has begun to gradually send delayed messages. The missing information should appear in Hangouts before the end of April 7th today.

Fi users have been able to send and receive phone calls and messages through Hangouts for many years, but Google announced plans to spin off these features many years ago because it transitioned Hangouts to another Google communication app. These features appear to have been disabled within the last week.

But the interruption occurred before the service was completely shut down, so Google is still working to fix the delay in passing Hangouts. A Google spokesperson confirmed the service interruption to The Verge and said that it is contacting affected users.
