Android 12 sneak: Added a clipboard access notification similar to iOS 14

According to the Android 12 sneak mirror shared on the XDA-Developers website, Google plans to launch a new notification: when an application accesses the clipboard, it will alert the user. This feature has been launched in the iOS 14 system. When the app accesses the clipboard content, a small banner will appear at the top to notify the user.

Clipboard access notification is one of several privacy-centric new features in iOS 14, and Google is now following in Apple’s footsteps. However, according to the screenshots provided by XDA, unlike iOS/ iPadOS 14, this new feature is optional, and the user will only display it after manually enabling it.

Google said that after enabling “Show clipboard access”, a message will be displayed when the app accesses the text, picture or other content you copied. Since the launch of this feature in iOS 14 in September last year, clipboard access notifications are considered to be one of the very useful privacy features. After enabling it, many users realize that popular applications such as TikTok and Reddit are privately accessing users’ clipboard data.
