Apple will not launch a 5.4-inch iPhone 14 Mini next year due to weak sales

Although Apple hopes to attract users with small-screen flagships, the iPhone 12 Mini has not been recognized by the market. It is reported that Apple will still launch the iPhone 13 Mini this year, but well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple will no longer launch a 5.4-inch version in the iPhone 14 series in 2022.

Guo Mingchi predicts that Apple will not release the iPhone 14 Mini next year. This is due to many factors. The iPhone 12 Mini has not been recognized by consumers after its launch in the global market. Previous statistics show that the 5.4-inch model is the worst-selling iPhone 12 in January 2021. According to Omida’s report, iPhone 12 Mini will ship 14.5 million units in 2020.

Compared with other models of iPhone 12, Mini’s sales are indeed worse. There is even news that Apple plans to stop production in the second quarter of 2021 due to weak user demand. Mr. Guo Mingchi believes that Apple still plans to launch 4 models in 2022, but they will use 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes.

This means that users can enjoy more screen space and larger batteries without spending too much money. It is not yet certain whether these more people-friendly iPhone 14 will support a 120Hz refresh rate. Guo Taiming also predicted earlier that Apple may switch to punch-hole displays for some iPhones in 2022, but did not specifically mention which models will have this change.
