It is understood that the R&D investment of Huawei Car BU will reach 1 billion US dollars this year, and the R&D team will reach 5,000 people, including 2,000 of the intelligent driving team, which will introduce high-end talents through R&D centers distributed in Europe, Japan and China. In the automotive industry, Huawei has reached in-depth cooperation with BAIC, Changan and Guangzhou Automobile.
Among them, the cooperation with BAIC has made the fastest progress. On April 17, the Alpha S Huawei HI version created by Huawei and BAIC New Energy’s high-end brand ARCFOX started pre-sales. The car is equipped with Huawei’s autonomous driving operation solution ASD and Huawei’s Hongmeng OS. The pre-sale price is 389,000. 429,900 yuan.
On April 18, Wang Jun said in an interview with a reporter from the 21st Century Business Herald that the pricing of new cars refers to the pricing standards of the industry, which is more reasonable, but consumers still have to vote in the end.
It is worth noting that Wang Jun told reporters that Huawei’s consumer BG channel may sell cars marked HUAWEI Inside in the future. Huawei Car BU is also continuing to expand its circle of friends. According to Wang Jun, there are European manufacturers interested in purchasing Huawei’s ADS autonomous driving operation program.
