Tesla CEO: Elon Musk responded the Tesla accident

Tesla CEO Musk posted on Twitter that the fatal car accident in Spring, Texas had nothing to do with the Autopilot system. NHTSA and NTSB are investigating the accident. The local police said in an interview that a 2019 Model S deviated from the road, hit a tree and caught fire. There was no driver behind the steering wheel.

Musk responded by saying: “From the current recovered data records analysis, the car did not enable Autopilot at the time, and this car did not purchase FSD. Also, if you want to enable the standard version of Autopilot, there is a lane line required, but the street where the incident occurred.”

Tesla sells autonomous driving systems under the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) brands. It has launched the FSD software package at a price of US$10,000. Autopilot and FSD cannot be used to control the car in a normal driving environment, and Tesla clearly tells the driver that the use of the software requires the driver to active supervision.
