New feature of Android, translate the text in the screenshot

When taking a screenshot in Android 11 and higher, a screenshot preview will appear in the lower-left corner of the screen for users to quickly share or edit. Now, the screenshot preview has a new translation suggestion feature from Google Lens. If the captured image contains non-native language content, the “Translate” button will appear in the preview screenshot. Clicking this button will activate the Google Lens feature to translate the screenshot.

The option at the bottom allows users to quickly Copy All and download the current language for offline access. You can also quickly send screenshots to the complete Google Translate application. Another small change is that the “share” recommendation appears alternately in several social media applications you have installed-in our case, Instagram and Twitter.

This integration is quite useful, although we encountered one or two mistakes, any text will trigger Google Lens. Images without any text will not display the translate button. The Google Lens translation in the screenshot UI seems to have been launched recently, possibly with the update of the device personalization service this week.
