Spooner further said: “In New Zealand and Greece, the working principle of warning sirens is to use most Android smartphones built-in accelerometer to detect indicate seismic waves earthquakes might occur if the phone detects that it believes may be the shock of the earthquake, it is.

Send the signal to our earthquake detection server and the approximate location of the shock. The server then obtains this information from many phones to determine whether the earthquake has occurred, where it happened, and what its magnitude is.”
