[Update: Verizon, Global] The unlocked Galaxy S9 getting May 2021 patch in the US

Some time ago, Samsung has officially rolled out May 2021 patch update for its Galaxy S9 lineup Globally on the firmware number G96xFXXUFFUD6. Now, the well-known US carrier Verizon has pushed May 2021 patch update to Galaxy S9/+ owners in the US on the build numbers G96USQU9FUE1 and G965USQU9FUE1 respectively.

Samsung Galaxy S9 is rumored to feature a 5.80-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 pixels by 2960 pixels at a PPI of 568 pixels per inch. The phone is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM. Moreover, it is rumored to run on Android 8.0. Samsung phones are known to stand out for their camera quality. And the Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to boast a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

This smartphone is rumored to have 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. Tipped to be a dual SIM (GSM and GSM), this desirable smartphone will accept Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Major connectivity options available in this phone include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone are rumored to include a proximity sensor, accelerometer, compass magnetometer, ambient light sensor and gyroscope.

According to the latest information, the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S9 device in the US now joins the May 2021 patch list. However, this update fixes an S Secure authentication bypass issue as well as an Intent Redirection vulnerability for Secure Folder. Of course, the new security update also addresses a number of vulnerabilities affecting Google’s own Android OS.

As per the report, the latest build carries firmware number G96xU1UES9FUD1. Samsung didn’t mention the official changelog of this update. Also, this update will soon be released widely.

Owners of the Galaxy S9 can receive notification of this update. By chance you don’t receive an update notification then check the update manually by going to the device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
