The epidemic hits Foxconn and Wistron in India

According to the latest reports, in May this year, two factories operated by Apple’s manufacturing partners Wistron and Foxconn in India were hit hard by the new crown pneumonia epidemic. A total of 13 employees were confirmed to be infected.

Last Saturday, Foxconn confirmed that 10 Chinese engineers at its Chennai plant were infected with the new crown virus. Five days ago, three Chinese engineers at Wistron’s Koral plant in Karnataka were also diagnosed with the new crown virus. Both Foxconn and Wistron are manufacturing partners of Apple. Foxconn produces iPhone XR in Chennai, India, while Wistron produces iPhone 7 in Bangalore (the capital of Karnataka).

In late March last year, Foxconn and Wistron suspended production in their Indian factories due to the impact of the new coronavirus epidemic. At that time, Foxconn stated that the company would suspend operations at its Indian factory until April 14.
