Check the preview of Google Assistant’s new colored UI

The last visual refresh of the Google Assistant intelligent assistant has to be dated back to the second half of 2019. After the full push started in early 2020, we found that the user interface of the new version of Google Assistant has become more concise, compact, and adaptable to the dark theme settings of the phone (optionally enabled or disabled). However, a new report recently showed that Google Assistant may usher in another more colorful and beautiful appearance refresh.

Matthew Pirszel pointed out that the new interface makes the Google Assistant on mobile devices richer. Depending on whether the user has enabled a light or dark system theme, Google Assistant will also automatically apply a shade of blue and green on the background. As for how Google chose these background colors, it is currently unknown. However, XDA suspects that this may be a preview of the “monet” theme on Android 12.

It is said that the “monet” theme can extract the color elements of the user’s wallpaper and automatically apply the relevant elements to every corner of the entire system UI. Judging from the screenshots shared by XDA, the monet theme can automatically change the background color of the notification interface, the theme color of the quick setting, and the color of the settings and lock screen pages.

Matthew Pirszel can even activate the previously rumored “My Actions” function, allowing users to tap to trigger frequently used queries. However, XDA also pointed out that they failed to unlock the My Actions function on Pixel 4 smartphones with the same firmware version. As for which Sony Xperia this special effect was implemented on, it is currently unknown.
