[Update: Verizon, US] Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup grabbed May 2021 patch update

Verizon released the May 2021 security patch update with new features for the Galaxy S20 series on the build number G981VSQU2DUDA, G986USQU2DUDA, and the G988BXXU7DUDB for the Galaxy S20 5G, Galaxy S20+ 5G, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. Below you can check the complete changelog.

What’s changing:

This software update brings the latest security patch and support for BYOD (bring your own device) when making the switch to Verizon from select carriers. It also includes enhancements to Quick Share for easily sharing files to other Android devices.

If you’re not already on Verizon’s 5G Nationwide network, Galaxy S20 users from other North American carriers will now be able to bring their device and instantly switch to a better network. Just insert and activate a new Verizon SIM card in your Galaxy S20 device and your device will automatically adapt to the Verizon network and experiences.

Samsung is one of the companies as per the software rollout and security patches. Before starting the new month the company has always delivered the upcoming patch updates a few days before. Recently, the company rolled out May 2021 security patch update and the first device to catch this update is Galaxy S21 series. Now, Samsung released May 2021 security patch update to its Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra in Germany.

As per the report, this update brings improvements to both the Camera and Quick Share. At that moment, this build coming on the build number G98xxXXU7DUDB with a size tag of 600MB. The update is available in a limited number of markets at first, and it should gradually expand to include more regions.

The Quick Share menu is now accessible from the Advanced Features section on the Galaxy S20 series, and its quick toggle now shows if you have set to share files with everyone or only with your contacts. It means that you won’t have to go to Quick Share settings to change the selection.

Owners of the Galaxy S21 can receive notification of this update. By chance you don’t receive an update notification then check the update manually by going to the device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.

Note: Before upgrading to the latest version make sure your smartphone is connected with a proper internet connection, we recommend you to download it over WIFI so that you will not face any error.
