At the I/O Developer Conference, Google announced the next Android Studio IDE version-the first Beta version of Arctic Fox. In most situations, the purpose of launching this tool is to introduce more tools around creating Android applications directly in the IDE.
Although Arctic Fox has many new features, the biggest feature of this update may be the integration of Jetpack Compose, which is Google’s toolkit for building a modern user interface for Android. In Android Studio, developers can now use Compose Preview to create previews of different configurations (consider themes and devices), or directly deploy the previews to the device.
The layout checker makes it easier for developers to understand how the layout is Presented in this way. With real-time updates enabled, any changes will also be directly reflected on the device.
The team also directly integrated the Android accessibility testing framework into Android Studio to help developers discover accessibility issues, such as lack of DeepL content or low contrast in the design. Just like some updates to the Android system itself, the team is also considering making it easier to develop for more form factors.

In order to build Wear OS applications, developers previously had to physically connect the watch to their development machine, or pair the watch through a large number of steps. Now, users can simply pair the watch with the phone emulator (or physical phone) through the new Wear OS pairing feature. Now it only takes a few clicks.
New features in Wear OS also include a new heart rate sensor for the Wear OS emulator in Android Studio, and the Android Auto emulator has the ability to replay car sensor data to help those developers develop and test the work process.
