Google update its weather app design for Android

The Google Weather app for Android is receiving an update that refreshes its look, and along with it, the latest Google Search beta appears to contain the same changes. The Mountain View company hasn’t revamped the weather interface for several years now, but now some Material Theme cues are appearing.

Among the most obvious changes, we find a search bar with rounded corners and tabs divided between today, tomorrow and 10 days. In the upper right corner, the profile avatar appears, which when touched displays a drop-down menu that allows you to select the temperature unit of measurement and the shortcut “Add to home screen”.

A new aspect that is strange in the search bar, which is no longer a color in theme with the current weather condition but simply remains white. Other than those just listed, there are no other changes to the experience, and Google still leverages weather.com to get the data shown.

However, there are some bugs when tapping the search bar to change cities, with the full list of saved locations not loading correctly. Google app 12.20 is currently only available in the beta channel.
