Check the new type of Galaxy Z Fold renders

Samsung is expected to launch a new tablet-style Galaxy Z Fold 3 and a clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip 3 folding screen in the second half of 2021 to cater to the different tastes of consumers. At the same time, Dutch technology blog LetsGoDigital recently discovered an interesting new design patent. It can be seen that the illustration depicts a dual-hinge mobile device that supports tri-folding.

Looking ahead to 2022, some people speculate that Samsung may release other forms of flexible screen smartphones, such as roll-up or sliding-type designs. However, in addition to the legendary Galaxy Z Roll or Galaxy Z Slide, Samsung may also launch the Galaxy Z Fold Tab with a three-fold, double-hinge design.

Earlier, Samsung’s display department had demonstrated an S Foldable device. Although it also supports two folds, the thickness of storage is equivalent to three mobile phones, making it very inconvenient to put in the user’s pocket.

However, the recently exposed Galaxy Z Tab Fold design chose to fold the flank to the back of the fuselage (the thickness will only double), and the gap left in it can also be used for the S Pen stylus Storage. To help everyone better understand, the Dutch technology blog LetsGoDigital also worked with industrial designer Sarang Sheth to produce a series of high-definition renders in this article.

Thanks to this special double-hinged folding design, manufacturers do not need to worry about designing the outer secondary screen for the folding screen smartphone. As for when Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold Tab, it is currently unknown.
