Samsung registered Eco OLED trademark

According to the LetsGoDigital, Samsung Display has registered two more trademarks, which are related to OLED screens. The names and corresponding logos have been registered. On June 3, 2021, Samsung Display submitted trademark applications for Eco OLED and Eco² OLED to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO).

The trademark is classified as category 9 and is described as follows: OLED display panels; smartphone displays; TV display panels; flexible flat panel displays for computers; flat-panel displays; notebook displays; displays for communication devices.

Its description is the same as the description of the round diamond pixel display registered by Samsung. It is still unknown whether this is the same type of OLED screen. It is not yet known what the name Eco² represents.

In addition to the name, Samsung has also registered a corresponding logo. The E part of Eco is composed of a green leaf, which may imply that the product will be very environmentally friendly. OLED displays have been considered environmentally friendly because they use relatively less energy, require fewer components, and generate less carbon dioxide emissions. Perhaps Samsung has further optimized the production process in order to be able to produce in a more environmentally friendly way.
