Certification: Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 equipped with 247mAh battery

From the Google I/O 2021 Developer Conference a few weeks ago, it is known that Samsung will launch a new wearable device platform that fully combines the ecological advantages of Google Wear OS and its own Tizen software later this year.

Recently, some certification information of the Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch has been revealed on the SGS Fimko website, which shows its battery specifications and charging support status. Earlier, this device has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, but no key specifications were disclosed at the time.

The SGS Fimko list shows that Samsung has prepared SM-R865F and SM-R860 for the Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch, which are the same as those revealed by the Wi-Fi Alliance website last month. Interestingly, the new news revealed that the new watch has a built-in 247 mAh battery and supports 5W charging power.

91Mobiles pointed out that the battery specification of 247 mAh indicates that SM-R865F and SM-R860 belong to the 41mm models of Galaxy Watch 4. For comparison, the 41/45 mm models of Galaxy Watch 3 are equipped with 240/340 mAh batteries respectively.

Although the original Galaxy Watch is equipped with a larger 472 mAh battery, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 4 seems to be improved through other aspects to eliminate the impact of reduced capacity on watch life. For example, through the newly optimized Wear OS platform, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 seems to be able to bring an inferior wearable device experience on the basis of a 247 mAh battery.
