Microsoft accidentally confirmed the Sun Valley update will coexist with Windows 10

Microsoft previously announced that it will release the next generation of Windows on June 24. It is generally predicted to be Windows 11 or Sun Valley. Recently, Microsoft unexpectedly confirmed on the official website support page that there will be a Sun Valley update.

As can be seen from the figure, Microsoft’s official website wrote “Windows 10 and Windows Sun Valley”, indicating that Win10 and Sun Valley are two parallel versions. In addition, in the GitHub modification record of MicrosoftDocs, the words Win10 and Sun Valley side by side also appeared.

A supporting document (now edited) indicated that Microsoft may split the Windows Update this fall into two versions, one for consumers and one for commercial and enterprise customers.

  • The Sun Valley update (Win11?), to provide consumers with a significant range of build versions, will arrive later this year.
  • The 21H2 version for enterprise customers is updated, and the building scope is Build 19044, which will arrive later this year.

Obviously, Microsoft will continue to maintain the current appearance of Windows 10 for corporate customers, and release a small service pack style update, which will give companies more time to prepare their customers to upgrade to Windows 11/Sun Valley.
