Microsoft says it will stop supporting Windows 10 in 2025

We know that Microsoft will announce major news about its next-generation Windows operating system in a few weeks. What we are not sure about is whether the successor will be called Windows 11, Windows Sun Valley, or another completely different name. However, what we now know is that Windows 10 will definitely be eliminated.

According to the life cycle page of Windows 10 Home and Professional Edition, Microsoft will end Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025. The banner labeled Important at the top of the page states: Microsoft will continue to support at least one Windows 10 semi-annual channel until October 14, 2025.

When the end date arrives, the operating system will no longer receive security or quality updates, although Microsoft may decide to extend the deadline slightly at some point in the future, as it did with Windows 7. Once the support ends, users will no longer be able to contact Microsoft for advice when there is a problem with the operating system.

The information that Microsoft accidentally leaked yesterday shows that at least for now, Windows 10 will run with the new version of the operating system, which will give users the appropriate time to transition from one operating system to another, rather than being forced to upgrade in advance as in 2016. At that time, Microsoft upgraded some Windows 7 users to Windows 10 against the wishes of users, which caused a lot of trouble.
