In iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey, Apple is expanding the functionality built into the inventory reminder app, which underwent a major makeover in 2019. With the new update this fall, users will be able to create smart lists that collect reminders based on different filters, such as their location, expiration date, flag, priority, and more.
With new features, users can create powerful lists that only display reminders based on a few filters. For example, the user can create a smart list with filters to display reminders due on weekends, with the location set to family. In the current software test version, Apple provides five filters, including date, time, location, flag and priority.
For dates, users can choose to display reminders that are only due on a specific date, a relative range, a specified range, such as on weekends or longer, and reminders that are due on any date. Users can select filters at any time of the day, or select more detailed options for morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
The location filter allows users to only see reminders that are due at a specific location. Users can also select mark filters to display only marked reminders and priority filters. iOS 15, iPad OS 15 and macOS Monterey are currently being tested for members of the Apple Developer Program, and the public beta version will be released soon.
