Apple provides developers with new on-screen game controllers in iOS 15 and iPad OS15

In this week’s WWDC platform briefing, Apple announced new APIs for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, allowing developers to implement on-screen virtual game controllers in their iPhone and iPad games with just a few lines of code. Although many iPhone and iPad games already provide screen controls, Apple’s new virtual game controller is available to all App developers.

Because it is a built-in API resource, it is very easy to add during the development of the program and can be customized on the basis of each game. Apple said that the on-screen controller can be adjusted to various layouts, each with up to four buttons on the left and right sides and a thumbstick, D-pad or touchpad.
