New feature of iOS 15 lets you drag and drop feature of iPad can be realized

In the iOS 15 preview update released this week, Apple added a very small but useful new feature that allows users to drag and drop pictures, text, files, etc. between apps on the iPhone. Federico Viticci, editor-in-chief of MacStories, demonstrated this new feature in a tweet.

Cross-app drag and drop was launched on the iPad in 2017, and now Apple is working hard to extend it to the iPhone through the iOS 15 update. To drag and drop on iOS 15, you can press and hold a picture, text, or file, and without lifting your finger, swipe out the app with your second finger to open another app.

Then, let go of the image, text, or file and place it in another application. Long-pressing the content will make it appear to rise and attach to your finger. When the content is dragged, animation and visual cues will determine the destination where the content may be placed.

In many applications, you can drag an item with one finger, and while dragging, tap other items with another finger. The selected items will move together and appear in the superimposed position under the finger that dragged the original item. Then, you can drag these items as a group and drop them into another application.
