Facebook announced on Tuesday that it will change its business tools and will expand its Shops feature to the instant messaging app WhatsApp in several countries, as well as the Facebook market in the United States ( Facebook Marketplace, which is a selling and buying function launched by Facebook on the mobile terminal on October 3, 2016).

Facebook CEO Zuckerberg said that the company will also introduce personalized ads in its “store” services based on users’ shopping behavior. The social media giant launched a store feature last year as a way for people to discover and purchase products on Facebook and Instagram, which is also part of the company’s foray into e-commerce. The company said that more than 300 million people visit Shops every month, and there are about 1.2 million active “shops” every month.

Zuckerberg said in an earnings report on Facebook that e-commerce is one of the company’s three key areas of focus, the other two are augmented reality and virtual reality, as well as helping content creators make money on the Facebook platform.

The company said it will test an artificial intelligence tool called “visual search” in the next few months so that users who shop on the photo-sharing site Instagram can click on items and find similar items in the “store” The product.

Zuckerberg said that users can use the search feature from the content on the app or from the photo album on their camera. Zuckerberg said in a live audio room on Facebook that Facebook is still studying how to use augmented reality technology to allow consumers to try on products, including from ads.
