The user interface of Microsoft’s upcoming Office application looks exciting

Microsoft yesterday announced the new Windows 11 operating system with a redesigned start menu, an improved taskbar experience and more. With the introduction of Windows 11, Microsoft is revamping several inbox applications with a user interface based on modern Fluent Design.

Last night, we reported on the new file explorer, settings user interface, notepad, drawing application, etc. In fact, Microsoft yesterday provided an early image of the user interface of the upcoming Office application.

Microsoft Office applications will continue to use the Ribbon UI toolbar, but Ribbon UI will now have new icons based on the Fluent Design style. As you can see from the picture above, the upcoming user interface looks very simple and modern.

With Windows 11, Microsoft Office can now be matched with current Windows themes, so you can enjoy visual improvements in any Office theme you like, including dark mode, white, color, or dark gray. In the coming months, Microsoft will release updated Office applications for consumers.
