Because of Apple does not support TPM 2.0, Intel version of Mac missed Windows 11

Microsoft released a new Windows 11 operating system this Thursday, bringing users a more modern UI design, and even running Android applications, but not all models can be upgraded to Windows 11. In fact, all Intel Macs cannot be officially supported by Win11, because Apple has never supported TPM 2.0, and the new M1 Mac is not compatible with any version of Windows.

Of course, you can also install Install.wim in the mirror-like other models that do not meet the requirements to bypass the TPM 2.0 requirements, but obviously, it only works but does not get any official support, including drivers and security updates.

The minimum system requirements for Windows 11 are a modern 1Ghz 64-bit dual-core processor, 64GB storage + 4GB memory, and support UEFI, Secure Boot function and TPM 2.0, with a 9-inch 1366×768 resolution display, DirectX 12. Graphics card/WDDM 2.x.

The following Macs are the first models with CPUs that support TPM 2.0 (Apple does not support TPM modules), which means that if Apple is willing to support Windows 11 OTA, it may be difficult:

  • MacBook (Retina, 12 inches, 2017)
  • MacBook Air (13 inches, 2017)
  • MacBook Pro (15 inches, 2016)
  • MacBook Pro (13 inches, 2016, four Thunderbolt 3)
  • MacBook Pro (13 inches, 2016, two Thunderbolt 3)
  • Mac mini (2018)
  • iMac Pro (2017)
  • iMac (Retina 5K, 27 inches, 2017)
  • iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5 inches, 2017)
  • iMac (21.5 inches, 2017)
  • Mac Pro (2019)

Any Mac released before the above models will probably never wait for Windows 11 to be officially supported. Although the Intel models released later have the minimum requirements to run the operating system, Apple has not yet provided official support, and most Mac users do not expect it.
