Apple adds the 2015 12-inch Retina MacBook to the list of obsolete products

Apple’s official website shows that the 2015 12-inch MacBook has become an obsolete product, and the device has been added to the list of obsolete products. Apple said that products that have been discontinued for 5 to 7 years will be included in the list of obsolete products and will not be able to be repaired at Genius Bar or Apple’s authorized service provider, but Apple will extend repair services for some obsolete products.

The 12-inch MacBook is also known as the Retina MacBook, which is a smaller and lighter version than the MacBook Air. It is equipped with an Intel Core M processor and is the smallest Mac with a Retina display. It also uses a fanless design.

Apple continued to update the 12-inch MacBook in 2016 and 2017, but eventually discontinued production in 2019 and replaced it with a newer MacBook Air with Retina display because the two devices are very similar.
