Google’s Whitechapel chip will incorporate AMD technology to enhance graphics performance

Google is developing its own chip-Whitechapel for Pixel phones. According to the latest news, this chip will integrate technologies from Google, Samsung and AMD and be manufactured using a 5nm production process. Although it is not against the standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 in performance, Google will incorporate machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies into this chip.

Thanks to Google’s software and hardware tuning, the user experience should be able to meet the needs of most users. Wccftech said that due to the addition of AMD, Whitechapel will have a relatively large improvement in graphics performance.

Samsung is expected to announce a new Exynos SoC, which includes AMD’s Radeon graphics IP. However, the Samsung-made Google processor with AMD graphics is still a bit distant future, but it is still an interesting possibility.
