iPad mini 6 may be equipped with A15 bionic processor and USB-C interface

According to reports, Apple’s iPad mini 6 will use a new design, including thinner bezels than the previous generation model. In addition to design changes, we can also expect breakthrough performance, because according to reports, the upcoming tablet will be equipped with the A15 Bionic chip, which may also drive the upcoming iPhone 13 series.

According to 9to5Mac, the iPad mini 6 codenamed J310 will also include a smart connector like the M1 iPad Pro series and iPad Air 4. This may mean that Apple is planning to launch a smart keyboard accessory on the tablet. The report also said that, like the aforementioned tablet, the iPad mini 6 will be equipped with a USB-C interface and has since given up the Lightning interface. In this way, third-party accessory manufacturers can bring more products to customers.

However, the biggest internal change may be the addition of the A15 Bionic processor. According to reports, TSMC started mass production of the chipset as early as May, so it will be ready when the iPhone 13 series is officially rumored to be launched in the third week of September. Unlike Apple’s A14 Bionic chip, the A15 Bionic chip is said to be manufactured using TSMC’s N5P process.

The new technology is said to be an improved 5-nanometer node that improves the performance and power efficiency of the A15 bionic chip and extends this advantage to the iPad mini 6. Unfortunately, the improvement of the manufacturing process does not mean that Apple is expected to increase the number of CPU cores of the A15 Bionic, because it is said that it will maintain the same six-core structure as last year’s A15 bionic.

Two of the cores will be designed for performance, and the remaining four will focus on power efficiency. According to previously leaked news, the Touch ID of the iPad mini 6 will be embedded in the power button, just like the iPad Air 4, and the display size may be between 8.5-9 inches, but there are also speculations about the size of this tablet More similar to the iPad mini 5, the larger display is only due to the reduction of the frame.
