WhatsApp rolls out option to join started video calls

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update that gives users the option to join a group video call that has already started. Earlier, indications for the feature already surfaced. It is now possible in WhatsApp to participate in a video group conversation that has already started.

This new feature already appeared last week, and from now on it will actually be rolled out. With the leaked message we also saw a new design for the calling feature. If you missed the video call, but all your friends are already connected to the video call, you will see it again in missed calls.

If the call is still active, you can choose to join the video call. It is also possible to leave the conversation in between and to rejoin later if the conversation is still active. You can see on the screen who is participating in the conversation, and you can also see who else has been invited.

It is a new feature, which we have already seen in several other apps such as Zoom. Now it is also available for WhatsApp. The feature is slowly being rolled out from now on.
