Update: Galaxy Gear (SM-V700) Samsung App Store service

July 7, 2021

Dear Galaxy Gear users:

Since the launch of the Galaxy Gear (SM-V700) in 2013, we have been providing it with the Samsung App Store (Galaxy Store) service. From August 5, 2021 (Korea Standard Time), we will terminate the Samsung App Store service on the Galaxy Gear’s Android operating system. You can update your Galaxy Gear device to the Tizen operating system to continue to receive apps from the Samsung App Store.

Once the Galaxy Gear device is changed to the Tizen operating system, it cannot be restored to the previous Android version. Installing the Tizen operating system will reset all user data on the Galaxy Gear device. Therefore, before changing the operating system, you should back up all data such as photos, videos, and audio recordings. After changing to the Tizen operating system, some applications will not be supported. If you have any questions, please click Samsung App Store Settings > Contact Us to contact us.

In September 2013, Samsung released the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which uses a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 320*320. The brushed metal surface and four exposed screws make it feel tough overall. The strap is made of rubber and has stripes on it to prevent slippage. It has six different color straps.
