Edge browser gains new features to further enhance the PDF reading experience

Thanks to browsers like Microsoft Edge, we no longer use PDF readers for viewing when light reading. Moreover, Edge not only provides an excellent reading experience but also brings many advanced features including dictionaries. In the journey of perfecting the PDF function, Microsoft recently introduced the free text box function.

As part of the upcoming Edge update, Microsoft is currently working to improve its browser’s built-in PDF reader. The free text box introduced this time allows users to add free-form text boxes to the document. Using this new feature, you can easily add text boxes to PDF to fill in forms and add visible notes.

According to the official roadmap, Edge will also get the free highlighter function. This feature will come with Microsoft Edge 95, and it will allow users to highlight parts of the PDF. With the free format highlighter pen, you can actually add comments to restricted PDF files as well as scanned files.

In addition, another feature will allow users to browse their PDF documents using thumbnails, which will appear in the left pane, similar to the new PDF reading experience of Google Chrome.
