Apple Music for Android officially supports spatial audio and lossless music

Yesterday, Apple updated the Android version of the Apple Music application, officially introducing support for spatial audio and lossless music, bringing the same functions to Android and iOS operating systems. Apple Music’s spatial audio and lossless music landed on Apple devices in June and began to provide beta features on Android.

Apple Music has added a stereo listening experience to compatible devices in this update and has launched thousands of music that supports Dolby Atmos.

Other Updates Include:

  • Lossless audio: A new way to experience lossless audio quality, accurate to every bit.
  • Fade in and out automatically: seamlessly connect each song with the next, bringing a new listening experience.
  • Enhanced library search function: Users can find their favorite music more easily through the online search function.

In the Settings menu of the Apple Music app for Android, users can access the Audio Quality submenu, which contains the option to enable lossless audio and can choose between different levels where applicable. Apple did not provide specific details on which Android devices can support Apple Music functions, and in the support document, it is recommended that Android users consult their device manufacturers.
