AMD CEO: RDNA 3 graphics card/Zen 4 processor are expected to be released in 2022

AMD yesterday released its Q2 2021 financial report. The financial report shows that AMD’s second-quarter revenue was US$3.85 billion, a year-on-year increase of 99%. In the conference call after the earnings report, AMD CEO Lisa SU confirmed that both RDNA 3 architecture graphics cards and Zen 4 architecture processors are expected to be released in 2022.

We are still expected to launch next-generation products in 2022, including the Zen 4 processor built with industry-leading 5nm process technology and our RDNA 3 graphics card. AMD expects the shortage of parts to continue until 2021, but the outlook for 2022 is good. This means that the price of AMD Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards may not drop in the short term.

AMD Zen 4 is expected to be launched in the second half of 2022. This series will replace the updated Zen3+/Zen3 3D V-Cache series, which will make its debut at the end of this year. Zen 4 processors will include EPYC 7004 series code-named Genoa, personal consumer CPU code-named Raphael and APU code-named Phoenix.

Raphael and Phoenix both provide RDNA2 integrated graphics and support DDR5 memory. AMD has not announced the update roadmap for the next few years as Intel does, so only this information is currently available.
